Ecto/Sameerah: Fucks sake, It’s been another shit day at my day job and once again I am running late. These days it seems like the story of my life. Tonight it isn’t a rush to get home and feed the cat or a potty emergency that sends me driving like a bat out of hell through the streets of Los Angeles. Tonight I’m going to sit down with Things Outside the Skin, the dark industrial trio from NYC who won my ears with their blend of insane sounds and kick as lyrics. Ectomag (2005)

Review Source: Ectomag
Artist: THINGS OUTSIDE THE SKIN
Release: You Knew It All Along
Label: Facility Records
Rating: 4.5 out of 5

Melodic industrial tinged with hip hop and overall crazy shit is one way to describe the latest TOTS offering, You knew it all along. One of the more eclectic discs out there today TOTS style runs from a more traditional industrial style to hip hop inspired drums and bass track with songs like town and Country then progressing in to darker moody pieces like Horror Culture III: The Victim. Even better than those tracks that you can define are the ones you cant. Like the Phil Hartman tribute Another Dead Comedian or the Vegan inspired Cow Tippin defy classification with their indefinable beats and sharp wit. Chvad SB and company may have out done them selves on this one. Well-done boys!
